HOT BUTTERBEER 🍻

Published on 4 December 2019 at 21:19

Imagine walking around on the Hogwarts grounds with your magical friends or classmates and you end up being a little cold. You suggest you all go to Hogsmeade, to the three Broomsticks to be exact. A few weeks a go there were rumours an crazy vegan kitchen witch had created a veganized version of Hot Butterbeer with a touch of alcohol of course if you are a witch or wizard above the age of 18. Otherwise the shrunken heads will leave you standing at the door. Come on and let me show you how to make it!

Yield: for one witch

Ingredients for one cup of comfort:

🍻 1 cup of almond milk

🍻 1 cup cream soda (make sure you have a vegan one)

🍻 a small drop rum extract

🍻 1 tbsp vegan butterscotch sauce (see photo for the recipe)

🍻 freshly grated cinnamon, fresh ginger or use ground ginger if you do not like it and nutmeg to taste. I like it spiced so I used 1/2 tsp for all the spices.

🍻 1 tbsp vegan butter, melted

🍻 pinch of salt

🍻 1 shot glass with caramel brandy or your favorite spirit of choice. Or if you want it alcohol free leave it out and swap for a fresh vanilla pod to make it special.

🍻 4 tbsp coconut whipped cream scented with vanilla extract and maple syrup. Best brand out there is NaturesCharm. Cool the can overnight and it will whip perfectly.

Witchy tip:

Make the caramel sauce first because it needs to cool and thicken. Then start the actual recipe.

Magical method:

  1. Add all your ingredients to a medium sized cauldron.
  2. Put your heat from low to medium. Heat everything through so the spices awaken and start to release flavour.
  3. Pour the hot mixture in your butterbeer cup and top with coconut whipped cream.

Enjoy the magic⚡
