HUFFLEPUFF ELIXER

Published on 23 February 2020 at 18:16

Goodday my fellow Witches and Wizards! Today I will show you how to make this beautiful Hufflepuff Elixer. Infused with spices and it is super easy to make.

This recipe is:

  • vegan
  • easy to make
  • dedicated to my Hogwarts House
  • refreshing
  • bold in flavour

ingredients:

Syrup:

4 juniper berries
2 star anise
1 tsp vanilla extract or fresh vanilla pod
1/2 tsp orange blossom water
3 thin slices of fresh ginger
1 clementine (zest and juice)
1/2 cup of (organic) coconut sugar
3 tsp good quality turmeric powder
1/2 cup of water

Time: 10 min
Yield: up to 12 glasses

to serve:

  • a few golden berries
  • edible flowers (I used yellow violets)
  • ice cubes
  • lemon slices
  • sprigs of fresh mint
  • sparkling water (I used one with clementine flavour)

magical method

  1. Take a small saucepan and zest the skin from the clementine in long strips
  2. Then slice the clementine in half and add the juice
  3. Slice the ginger thin and add all of the other ingredients to your pan. Stir until combined and put your heat up to medium
  4. Let the mixture slowly come to a boil and then turn the heat down
  5. Let the syrup simmer for 10 minutes
  6. Strain the syrup and let it cool completely

To make the drink: add 2 or 3 tbsp of the syrup on the bottom. Add a handful of ice cubes, lemon slices, golden berries and some mint and top off with sparkling water. And make them magical with some edible flowers.
